Here is a super easy way to make an iced version of traditional matcha green tea without any fancy matcha tools.
Equipment:
Shaker/Bottle
Teaspoon ( or Chashaku)
Small tea strainer
Small container or cup
Glass
Ingredients:
2g Matcha powder (2 Chashaku spoon or 1 teaspoon)
2 Tablespoon boiled & cooled water (70-80C)
60ml Water (room temp)
Ice Cubes
Instructions:
Measure 2g of Matcha Green Tea powder with chashaku/spoon and sift it through a tea strainer into a small container or a cup.
Add 2 tablespoons of hot water, mix well with the spoon to make a smooth paste. This is a very important step to avoid clumps. You can increase the amount of Matcha if you like stronger matcha.
Shift the paste made in 2 into a shaker/bottle. Add 60ml room temperature water into the shaker/bottle, put the lid on and shake it vigorously. Add some ice cubes and shake more.
Pour the matcha mixture into a glass. IcedMatcha is ready!
Notes:
If you have a traditional Japanese bamboo whisk and a Matcha bowl, you may simply make hot matcha (→follow our Hot Matcha section! ), then add a lot of ice cubes to make it icedMatcha too.
By adding freshly squeezed lemon juice and dash of honey, you can transform IcedMatcha it into a sweet Matcha Lemonade in no time.
